DE LAS TERRENAS
To get to Las Terrenas you may fly into any of these three international airports, El Catey, Puerto Plata or Santo Domingo.
El Catey (AZS): The closest airport is the international airport of El Catey. This airport is half an hour away from Las Terrenas, however, there is no public bus to get from the airport to the town. We will gladly organize your pick-up by taxi or inform you about the current rate.
Puerto Plata (POP) in the northwest is serviced by many European and American airlines. The taxi
ride to Las Terrenas takes between 3 and 4 hours and can be a little expensive. Please check with us first about the current taxi rate. There is no public bus available directly from Puerto Plata to Las Terrenas.

Santo Domingo (SDQ) is the airport that the majority of international travelers use. Flights arrive at all times of day and into the night. The ride from the airport to Las Terrenas takes between 2 and 3 hours.
You may take a taxi or bus directly to Las Terrenas or consider staying overnight in Santo Domingo. We recommend staying in the 500-year-old Zona Colonial for its interesting history and easy walkability.
There is an air-conditioned long distance bus that goes directly to Las Terrenas from Santo Domingo. The bus terminal, "Transporte Samana," is on the edge of the Zona Colonial.
If you land in the Santo Domingo airport during the day and want to head directly to Las Terrenas by bus, you can take a taxi from the airport to the bus stop “Autopista Samana/Las Americas” (10 min.) and get on one of the direct buses. Because departure times vary and the last bus to Las Terrenas leaves before 3:00pm, we recommend that you contact us for help with planning your bus travel.
Should you want to come to Las Terrenas directly after your arrival in Santo Domingo we can send a taxi to pick you up at the airport. If making your own arrangements, please check with us first for the current rates.
We are glad to help you with your planning.
Punta Cana (PUJ): We do not recommend that you fly into this airport if you are planning to come to Las Terrenas directly. Though there are public buses, the journey is very long, and taxi rides (around 5 hours) are expensive.
